Looking for Answers about Motorola Electrify™?

I think the front one is like a 1.3MP it's mostly there for self pictures and video chat. 1.3MP vs 8MP the answer is obvious

No i think the one on the screen side is only like 1.3mp and the one on the cover side is 8mp

Like all andriod phones these are prone to mallware in which you need to get a good antivirus to keep everything runninng smoothly. Or you will get glitches,freeze ups,and crashes.

Haven't seen any! Had the phone a couple months. Great phone.

I was told by the US Cellular Rep in Fort Dodge that this phone IS NOT 4G compatible. None of their current offerings are 4G, BUT the first 4G smartphone is supposed to be in stores in April...

This Phone WILL be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich.

On your home screen press the menu button which is the one located all the way to your left. And you will see Manage Apps, it will take you to a screen that will show you which apps are running and will give you the option to Stop it if you'd like. Hope this helps.

The ones that are running say how much ram they are using to the right. You check the app and click close. Hope this helps.

No, it doesn't stay lit while charging, one cool feature you can use is the battery full notification, go into settings, sound and all the way at the bottom and set a ringtone to let you know when its fully charged

I had some initial issues with my phone, but after figuring out that I had a bad Memory Card (sucking my battery dry like a vampire) I took that out and now I LOVE my phone. There is so much that I still need to learn though.I would recommend the Electrify!

NO this is NOT a good phone in my experience!!! within having phone 1st 30days of service i had to replace it 4 times and am going back this wk to do 5th! all do to phone errors like internal server error, rebooting constantly, speaker phone cracking & popping, unable to make calls due to screen freezing then all of a sudden rebooting, reboots mid text etc....DONT GET THIS PHONE!!!

Of course. You can even download an app that will allow you to do it through your bluetooth and it'll read them back to you. but you need a special bluetooth.

when you start a skype call it'll give you the option of choosing front, back or no camera. Choose the front. If you missed that step, just touch any where on the screen and a bar will pop up from the buttom. You can select from there.

Skype released an update that enables the camera. Go to the Android Market press the menu button then My Apps. On the top it should show that Skype has an update available (assuming the older version is installed). Press it and install the update. Open Skype press the menu button then settings. Towards the bottom of the list you should see an option to enable video calling.

As already noted, Skype doesn't work on this phone because Skype as an app doesn't support the processor chipset. However other video chat apps like Tango are tested and fully functional.

Well this phone is saving Room so when it can update to the newest android. Like ice cream sandwich or when. It updates to a newer version of Motorola sense you will not have to delete any apps because on another phone no one have room to update and people got angry.

skype works right now, its just not on their list of accepted devices. when you go to enable video calling in the menu, it just says it might not be the best quality video because they haven't tested it yet. it works, i video called myself on my laptop.

The phone can be put into silent mode and only vibrate, or can be setup to ring and vibrate both, which is what I use.

Make sure you close down your apps dont just hit the home button all the time. Turn off the vibration, turn off wifi, gps and bluetooth when not in use. Go to settings and turn down your brightness and adjust your screen timeout. Go to your task manager and end apps that your are not using. Don't have a animated wallpaper. Turn down the ringer volume. Charge when it gets to 20% and charge with it powered completely off.

turn on data saver is settings and get a task manager from the market and adjust your screen lighting/display modes

If you need it to last longer in general that's hard but here are some ways! Turn the screen brightness down! Take off the widgets like weather stuff because the phone is keeping them ready if you click on the screen! Turn of you phones if you not going to be using it for an hour because it has to standby and be ready if you get a text message!

I've had both. I used the Mesmerize for a week, but wasn't satisfied with it. I exchanged it for the Electrify and couldn't be happier! Definitely Electrify!

I recently switched from the Mesmerize to the Electrify. I like the Electrify better. It is more stable (rarely crashes), faster, better display and much better battery life. The Electrify is a little thicker and heavier than the Mesmerize, but is also more solid.
I also like Moto's software better than Samsung. You can actually set the screen time out to "never time out". I also had a puzzling and unsolvable problem on the Mesmerize where the dialer screen would keep turning off during calls while using bluetooth. Tried every app I could to try and solve the problem, but never found a solution. I don't miss the Mesmerize.
The Electrify has the same voice to text features as the Mesmerize.

Easily the Electrify. They say that this phone may be the best android out there. Many people I have talked that have come from the IPhone to the Electrify say that the Electrify is much better.

Yes just do it as if you were sending a text. Touch the menu option there you will see an option to insert touch there and you will have your options to add whatever find it select it and it's in your message

Pull picture you want to send from your gallery. When pic is on the screen..tap the picture. Options will come up below. Choose circle with 2 arrows pointing up. Then choose the txt message option. You can add text and send...

Yes this phone will get ICS according to my local USCC rep. That update has NOTHING to do with 4G, however.

This phone will NOT be 4G capable. 4G capability has to do with the hardware of the phone itself - not the Android operating system. Having Android ICS will not make the phone operate on the 4G network.

According to the USCC website, there will be a 4G Samsung available in April of this year. None of their current offerings are 4G capable.

i was told the electrify was the only phone that would do all updates on its own.

Plug in your phone to your pc. The Motorola media sync software should automatically be downloaded. Once installed it will allow you to transfer things like music, pictures, and videos to and from the phone. Its pretty easy to use as well.

connect to comp. give it a few seconds to reconize the new device you should have an extra memory space labled MOT. and if you have a sd memory card it will also bring that up.click on MOT.in my computer screen scroll down to DCIM. click on that then you will see a folder named camera click there and there will be your pic.s

Have you plugged your phone in to your PC using the included USB cable? The software automatically installed for me on my Mac. You may have to download an additional app from the Market, but you'll be instructed to do so, and you'll be told what to search for. Let me know if you need additional assistance.

No. The cover over the back is a little harder then normal to remove but it is very possible. You can even put extended life batteries in them.

no that is compleatly WRONG!! I have removed mine a couple times since i've had it

Very wrong, you can easily pop off the back plate (carefully) and remove the battery, add an SD or SIM card.
